poll results and the future of the comm... [11 Feb 2007|09:28pm]

Thanks to all of you that participated in the poll! The results are fairly straight-forward: people want sv_flashfiction to stay SV only. *bg* Yay! Bring on the SV love!

So, here's what we're going to do:

1. The three mods would still very much like to pass on the torch of 'mod-ship' to a few fans that are perhaps more involved in the SV fandom. If you'd like the job, drop me an email or a comment onto one of my posts.

2. Until further notice (*g*), we have a new community challenge structure. The original idea came from astolat and I think it's brilliant! Basically, this comm will rotate challenges weekly. On each Friday morning, after the new episode of SV has aired in the US, the challenge will be to write fic (or create art) inspired by the episode. That'll give you seven days to write and post your story here at the comm.

3. There will not always be a mod post to open and close the challenges so on Friday morning, if you have fic/art ready to go, feel free to post without waiting for us to officially 'open' the challenge.

If you have questions, comments or ideas, feel free to drop any of the mods a note!

the quiet is overwhelming... [07 Feb 2007|04:42pm]

hi, smallville! hihihi! It's been awfully quiet around her lately. (umm, yeah, including the mods which is just wrong :) Is anyone still out there?

Audra, Estrella and I have been talking about the comm lately and! We have a dilemma that we need your help with!

Lately, there's not been enough traffic here at the comm to keep it active and interesting, and as mods, we've failed (totally and horrifically) and have let things slide. We admit it! We've been distracted by all the new shiny things.

So, there's a couple of options for all of us:

1. We can keep sv_flashfiction in place and bring in a few new mods that may be better able to jump start the comm. (We'd need volunteers. *g*)

2. We switch the comm from sv_flashfiction to some something like 'cw_flashfiction' and we make it a flashfic comm for all the shows on the CW (and the older off-air shows that were on the WB): Smallville, Supernatural, One Trill Hill, Veronica Mars, etc. The mods and the format would remain the same, only the name and fandoms would change. Het, gen, slash, and rps would all be allowed.

We're going to probably end up going with the majority rule on this poll, so take a minute and click-click!

Poll #922849 What will the future hold?

What should happen to sv_flashfiction?

Keep it exactly as it is! I need my SV!
Keep it exactly as it is! (And I'd LOVE to be a mod!)
Change it! Multi-fannish fun! yay!

We'll leave the poll open until Sunday. Feel free to make a comment and tell us what you think!

Challenge Fic: Villains [10 Oct 2006|05:06am]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Title: Lex: Evil is a Definition of Society
Author: Alex
Pairing: Chloe/Lex (hints of Chlark and Lexana)
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 2,493
Warning: Some angry sex and alcohol consumption
Summary: A chance meeting in the rain, Brandy-flavored everything, and an evil plan.
Disclaimer: Too bad it’s not mine. But I can wish really hard!
A/N: For the sv_flashfiction challenge. Villains. Possible sequel in the making if I have time.
Her speech was slurred delightfully and Lex knew at that moment that he wouldn’t take her. He wasn’t that type of man, didn’t need copious amounts of vintage booze to reel any gal in. He had the copious amounts of dollar bills for that.

Admin post: The Super-for-a-Day Challenge [18 Aug 2006|06:37pm]

Hi, babies!! Everyone having a good summer? *bg*

Okay! The kryptonite challenge is now closed! You can read the entries here.

Our next challenge comes courtesy of a suggestion by astolat:

What if someone other than Clark had a super-power for a day?

(And it doesn't necessarily have to be one of Clark's super-powers -- invisibility, telepathy, anything goes!)

This challenge will run until September 8. As always, if you need more time, just comment here. Have fun!

Admin Post: The Kryptonite Challenge! [04 Aug 2006|10:17am]

Hi all! Uhm. Sorry. This is so, so, SO bad, but the summer has apparently eaten our brains, and I havent closed the last challenge since like, June.

THAT IS SO BAD. I'm sorry!

So, ok, people. Here's the thing. We need more Smallville fic out there. It's the summer hiatus, and time to go WILD with the improbable fic-writing, so to kick this up a notch, I'm saying we do a kryptonite challenge as suggested by laceymcbain. Lacey says:

I think it would be cool to do a Kryptonite challenge sometime. We've got red (lack of inhibitions), green (deadly), black (Good/Evil split), and silver (paranoid) in show canon. I'm sure the imagination can run wild with other colours - I've always been fond of the aubergine (gay-inducing) Kryptonite. *wink*

Think how awesome this could be! It can be set in current canon, past seasons, or futurefic! It can be a known form of kryptonite, or make one up all on your own! The opportunities are endless for this one, guys. Let's try and get this comm back up and running again!

Today is Friday, Aug. 4th. Let's give this one two weeks (and I promise not to slack on the time period this time!) and let it run until Friday, Aug. 18th.

As always, please feel free to drop any suggestions and comments in any admin post.

Admin Post: The Enclosed Spaces Challenge! [12 Jun 2006|10:54am]

Hey all! Time for a new challenge around here!
justabi has said:

We should do enclosed spaces. That's always fun.

And lemme tell you, I completely agree! Trap whoever you want, wherever you want, and with whoever you want! Trap someone alone! Trap them at night! In the day! Set it in season 1! Season 5! Futurefic! Make it porny or not, we're not choosy here!

It's June 12th, so let's let this baby run for two weeks, until midnight, June 26th. And again, any suggestions for future challenges, please drop in the comments section of any Admin post!
